To compare the best website builders on ease of use, templates, customer service, and value for money, we tried to build the same site on each platform. Check out the results here.
New Zealand based company RocketSpark has joined the ranks of website builders, providing entrepreneurs with an easy-to-learn platform that enables them to quickly create elegant sites without busting their budgets. RocketSpark takes care of everything you might need for a website: web hosting, domain registration, and even an SSL certificate for e-commerce websites. They’ve also provided a healthy range of beautifully-designed templates, complete with Adobe Typekit designer fonts and customizable design elements. If you can’t quite decide on which template to use, not to worry: changing templates later on is a breeze, compared to many other website builders which require you to copy and paste all your existing content every time you want to swap to a new look.
The visual editor is based on a “stack editing” design, which means that content is vertically arranged and does not require you to painstakingly move elements around until you’re satisfied with their placement. You can add captioned slideshows, crop photos, set up a blog, edit SEO elements, and even launch an online store with RocketSpark’s platform. Customizability may be limited, however. Users report that it’s challenging to add any additional fields to the included contact form plugin, and that the same goes for many of the other elements. There is also no undo/redo function.
RocketSpark’s package features vary primarily in the functionality of the integrated e-commerce module. Their most basic plan allows only 10 products, while their E-commerce Pro plan allows an unlimited number. In addition, the basic plan does not include features such as coupons, promotions, CSV importing of products, and value-added services like custom checkout fields. However, all these features are available in the Ecommerce Pro plan. It’s worth noting that plans are more affordable when paid annually instead of monthly. If you’re unsure about committing, you can try RocketSpark with their 30-day free trial.
