Manilla-based website hosting company Web Hosting Philippines sells a small selection of hosting plans. They’ve got some big brands in their portfolio including Hitachi, L’Oreal, and Johnson & Johnson. Their website is in English.
Features and Ease of Use
Web Hosting Philippines sells three shared hosting packages that come with the following core features:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Domain registration available
- One or unlimited add-on domains
- From 0.5GB disk space to unlimited disk space
- From 5 GB to unlimited bandwidth
Web Hosting Philippines partners with U.S. data center The Planet. This data center ensures the highest uptime thanks to state of the art security, power, safety, cooling systems, redundant power, and fire detection systems. The center is monitored 24/7/365 by The Planet technicians.
They offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee, although it’s not backed by a service level agreement. I prefer providers to own their own data centers or at least their servers, but I am pleased that this company is transparent about being a reseller and about the data center they use.
Web Hosting Philippines only sells three hosting plans along with domain registration. The plans are Personal (which comes with 0.5GB web space, 5GB bandwidth, and one domain), Business (which includes 1GB web space, 10GB bandwidth, and unlimited domains) and Enterprise (with unlimited web space, bandwidth, and domains). All three plans come with unlimited subdomains and MySQL databases, and all but the basic plan (which has ten email accounts) come with unlimited email accounts.
There are a few value-adds that come with this service, such as the Fantastico one-click installer, and support for PHP, Python, and Perl, along with FTP access and Cron jobs for more advanced users. Although it may not be the most extensive list of features out there, it should be sufficient to get most users started.
Pricing and Support
The Personal and Business plans are both very cheap. The highest Enterprise plan is quite costly, and – apart from unlimited disk space and bandwidth – it doesn’t have enough extra features to warrant the premium price.
Plans can be bought on one, two and three-year terms. Sadly, there is neither a monthly plan that requires less commitment nor a discount for purchasing a multi-year term. They do, however, provide a satisfactory seven-day money-back guarantee.
They offer 24/7 customer service, which – according to their website – you can access by telephone, mobile, chat, email or ticket system. I have to admit to not actually being able to find the live chat, nor a knowledge base or any FAQs, on their website.
