Telkomhosting is the web hosting arm of Telkomsigma (PT Sigma Cipta Caraka), which in turn is part of Telkom Indonesia. So what appears to be a small web hosting vendor is actually backed by a much larger organization.
Telkomhosting’s website is in Indonesian.
Features and Ease of Use
Telkomhosting’s website hosting solutions come with the following standard features:
- Free setup
- Unlimited subdomains
- Unlimited MySQL databases
- Free website templates
- Free AWStats statistics
- FTP accounts
- Automatic daily backups
- Fantastico script auto-installer
- Unlimited addons and parked domains
Of the five shared web hosting packages (300, 500, 1G, 2G, and 3G), the “300” starter package is suited to personal blogs and small businesses. It includes 300 MB disk space, 70 GB monthly bandwidth, 3 email accounts, and 3 FTP accounts. The most advanced “3G” plan is designed for businesses with higher storage requirements. It includes 3 GB disk space, 150 GB monthly bandwidth, 10 email accounts, and 10 FTP accounts
All the hosting packages include daily automatic data backups but, unfortunately, no SSL certificates are offered.
Telkomhosting ensures data security and reliability by utilizing RAID 6 configurations for storage. The data center facilities are connected to multiple internet backbones and gateways, providing fast and stable internet connections with 30+ Gbps optical links.
Pricing and Support
This vendor’s hosting solutions seem extremely expensive for the features included, although it doesn’t charge extra for email forwarding or ID protection.
You can sign up on flexible billing cycles from monthly to biennially with no apparent discounts for longer-term commitments. I’d be tempted to make only the minimum monthly commitment since there is no money-back guarantee. There is also no uptime guarantee as far as I can see.
You should be able to contact Telkomhosting’s customer support team (not 24/7) via telephone, ticket, email or live chat. Unfortunately, I failed to secure a response to my initial email approach. I also found that the self-support knowledge base is “Under Maintenance”, and it doesn’t seem possible to submit a support ticket:
