To compare the best web hosts, we hosted the same WordPress website on each one and tested performance, customer service, and value for money. Check out the results here.
SkyBiz has been in business in Malaysia since 1997, but in 2010 is started expanding outside its home country, and in 2012 its Singaporean presence was founded. Today, this business has offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, as well as servers in Hong Kong.
SkyBiz provides shared hosting, VPS hosting, cloud hosting, dedicated servers, WordPress hosting, email hosting, and domain registration. Its Singaporean and Malaysian websites are in English.
Features and Ease of Use
SkyBiz offers Linux and Windows shared hosting plans: six for Linux, and three for Windows. The only differences between the Linux plans (apart from the prices) are the storage allocations, which range from 5 GB and 90 GB. The Windows plans vary in terms of storage (from 10 GB to 500 GB) and the number of hosted websites (from 1 to 50).
The shared hosting packages share the following features:
- Unlimited bandwidth
- 99.9% network uptime guarantee
- Softaculous one-click installer (with Linux)
- cPanel (Linux) and Plesk (Windows) control panels
- Automatic daily backups (for Linux) and R1Soft (for Windows)
- SSL support (including a free SSL certificate with the Windows plans)
To reiterate: the Linux plans are managed using the user-friendly cPanel control panel, but the Windows plans are managed with Plesk. In both cases, you can easily control all aspects of your website, including installing CMS apps — such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop, and Magento — thanks to the built-in installer (for Windows/Plesk ) or Softaculous (for Linux/cPanel).
The Linux plans also offer the RVsitebuilder website builder, which provides hundreds of website design templates. You can effortlessly create your website from scratch using the user-friendly drag and drop interface, without requiring any technical knowledge.
Pricing and Support
The Linux subscriptions are quite affordable whereas the Windows subscriptions are slightly more expensive (as I would expect). You can pay via wire transfer, credit card, check, or PayPal, and you can subscribe on terms from one to ten years, with lower costs for a longer commitment. Windows subscriptions come with a very generous three-month money-back guarantee.
You can contact the SkyBiz customer support team via telephone, support ticket, email, live chat, or WhatsApp. However, I managed to summon no support responses via the ticket, email, or WhatsApp channels. Post-sales support looks more promising, since (among other things) you can get remote support via TeamViewer.
How much does SkyBiz cost?
SkyBiz offers plans from $0 to $8. The price depends on which type of hosting plan you choose. You can see the updated pricing table (updated weekly) below.
Which SkyBiz plan should I get?
My recommendation is to start with a cheaper plan. You can always upgrade later on. SkyBiz can help you with the migration to a more expensive plan. The increase in visitors many times takes longer than expected and you shouldn’t pay a lot of money until the need arises. Of course, your needs may vary, and you can consult with a hosting expert from SkyBiz.
How good is SkyBiz’s customer support?
SkyBiz is not ranked as one of our top web hosts. But that can also be a result of SkyBiz being a small, under the radar, hosting provider. There are advantages to a small hosting company – as a customer, you are more important to them. You can also check out our comparison of the most popular web hosting services here.
