Proxeuse Review 2024 – Is It Worth It?

Solomon Ndung'u Written by: Solomon Ndung'u

Proxeuse is a sole proprietorship based in the Netherlands. The company was incorporated in August 2019 after the dissolution of its former brand name, Hostify. Its offerings range from shared hosting and reseller plans to domain registration, storage solutions, and web development.

Overview

proxeuse-overview1

Proxeuse is a Dutch company that was started under the brand name Hostify. On August 31st, 2019, the firm announced that it had discontinued using the name Hostify to avoid confusion with another U.S. company that is registered under a similar brand name.

That said, the company did not lose track and continued leveraging its years of experience to serve customers as it used to. Its Dutch website sells shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS (managed and unmanaged), storage cloud services, etc.

Features and Ease of Use

Proxeuse boasts of equipping its hosting services with “everything” making hosting quite simple and satisfactory. Some of the standard features included in its hosting solutions are:

  • Domain names + subdomains
  • Up to 1TB monthly bandwidth with shared plans
  • Free domain with annual subscriptions
  • Email accounts
  • Softaculous auto-installer with more than 500 scripts
  • Plesk and cPanel control panels
  • Databases
  • DirectAdmin with reseller hosting

With its shared hosting packages (Base, Starter, Business, and Professional), it’s easy to virtually create a range of websites; you can choose to build a website in HTML, PHP, or even develop a WordPress site.

Currently, the vendor offers these plans with a selection of either cPanel or Plesk control panels, although Plesk is more commonly used on its hosting plans. Customers should expect the introduction of the DirectAdmin panel with shared plans in the near future.

The vendor provides users with storage cloud services that are privacy-friendly and your data transfer is always encrypted to avoid a security breach. All of your files, passwords, contacts, and emails are stored on secure servers distributed in Germany.

Although on its website there is mention of servers in France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, when I contacted one of their reps, they confirmed to me that these locations have yet to be developed.

All of its hosting plans do not include an SSL certificate or free backups. However, the hosting provider does offer backup plans regularly, and these are available for a small monthly fee.

Pricing and Support

Proxeuse’s hosting services come with standard prices but for storage cloud solutions, users will have to ask for a quote. Prices are listed in euros, although one can switch to U.S. dollars during checkout. The hosting solutions are offered with monthly billing cycles, albeit customers with annual subscriptions get the added benefit of a free domain name.

Unfortunately, Proxeuse does not seem to have a free trial or any refund policy. The hosting company also does not commit to an uptime network guarantee.

proxeuse-support

To contact Proxeuse’s support desk, users can do so via several channels: telephone, email, ticketing system, and live chat. You can also find them on WhatsApp.

Its knowledge base supports either English or Dutch, and contains very few articles.

Proxeuse REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

Proxeuse boasts of providing feature-rich hosting services with virtually infinite possibilities for creating a website, however, I strongly disagree with its bold claims. Its plans come with very basic features, enough for hosting blogs and small websites, but a bit overreaching to host resource-intensive websites with complex databases.

Pros

  • cPanel or Plesk control panel
  • Privacy-friendly and encrypted cloud storage services
  • Softaculous auto-installer with 500+ scripts
  • Free domain name with annual subscriptions

Cons

  • Very basic hosting features
  • Does not commit to uptime network guarantee

Get privacy-friendly hosting with Proxeuse.
