In business since 2003, Profitux has provided web hosting and Virtual Private Server solutions. One of the brands under Stable.cz, the company offers shared hosting and Virtual Private Servers (VPS). The website is in Czech only.
Features and Ease of Use
For VPS, Profitux directs customers to its parent brand – Stable.cz. On its own, it doesn’t provide VPS. For shared hosting, this company offers only one plan.
On the plus side, it means that you don’t have to spend much time thinking about which of plan to choose from a long list. On the other hand, you’re left with no other choice except going elsewhere if the features aren’t suitable for you. These are some of the features:
- 99.9% uptime
- Daily automatic backups
- Free SSL certificate
- Unlimited transfer
The company calls its storage space unlimited, but it really isn’t. It guarantees 5GB storage space to customers, but you can use more, depending on how free your server is or on other server-specific layouts.
The plan available is on the Linux operating system with Apache webserver. The web host doesn’t limit the number of FTP accounts that you can use or the number of MySQL databases that you can create and use.
Another nice feature is unlimited email accounts. As long as the email storage space doesn’t eat all of your web storage space, you’ll enjoy this feature.
For programming, the company supports PHP. There’s no Python support here, which is a downside. Beginners are likely to be disappointed as well. since there’s no one-click installer. If you plan on using WordPress, for example, know that you’ll have to learn how to create a database and edit your wp-config file. That’s not all. There’s also no website builder of any kind.
Profitux doesn’t offer domain registration. either, so you’ll have to buy from a domain registrar. Then, after buying your domain, you’ll have to change the DNS on your domain to connect to the Profitux nameservers. The web host has a page dedicated to this from its web hosting page to make it easy for any customer to do this.
Pricing and Support
Before discussing prices, it’s important to note that this vendor limits its hosting service to customers in/from the Czech Republic. I discovered this when I reached the checkout process and found that the country selection option only included the Czech Republic.
With regards to pricing, the prices are affordable. You can pay for one month and even better, it offers a free 14-day trial with no credit card commitment. And, even if the service fails during your payment period, its SLA guarantees a refund. If there’s downtime or the response time is very long, your next month’s cost is reduced by 1% to 50%.
