To compare the best web hosts, we hosted the same WordPress website on each one and tested performance, customer service, and value for money. Check out the results here.
OpenHosting offers a wide range of pre-configured VPS and customizable cloud hosting packages. It also offers a White Label program, which you can join to become a reseller.
OpenHosting’s main website supports English, and its client area also supports the German and Portuguese languages.
Features and Ease of Use
OpenHosting offers nine SSD VPS plans, three VPS NVMe plans, three pre-configured cloud NVMe plans, one flexible cloud plan, and four masternode VPS plans. Focusing on the SSD VPS features, you can expect to find:
- One to six vCores
- Linux and Windows OS
- 2 GB to 12 GB RAM
- 50 GB to 400 GB SSD storage
- Unlimited traffic
- Up to 1 Gbps connectivity
- Web manager for server administration
- Automatic anti-DDoS protection
You can access your virtual instance via RDP (for Windows instances), SSH (for Linux), or the web console (if you don’t have an RDP or SSH client). VPS plans also come with source and static NAT options that allow you easily to connect from an external network to the virtual instance, and from internal to external networks. You can enjoy increased flexibility and enhanced connection reliability, and plans provide port forwarding so you can make your own rules for virtual instances.
One of the interesting features of OpenHosting is its SSD and NVMe storage. SSD offers enhanced reliability and performance, while NVMe further improves the performance of SSD compared to traditional HDD storage.
OpenHosting guarantees 99.8% service uptime on all its hosting plans.
Pricing and Support
OpenHosting’s SSD VPS plans are priced on par with the industry average, and you can pay for them in U.S. dollars via PayPal or credit/debit cards. Available billing cycles range from a low as daily to as high as annual, within the daily and weekly billing being notably more expensive than the rest. The seven-day money-back guarantee doesn’t afford you much time to decide if you want to stay with the services, and this guarantee does not apply to daily or weekly billing cycles.
You can contact OpenHosting’s customer support team via email, live chat, support ticket, or online form. Unfortunately, live chat was unavailable when I wanted to try it, and my exploratory email went unanswered. Self-support is not much better since the knowledge base contains only ten articles.
