Israeli hosting company Netpower that was launched in 2011, since when it has provided a wide range of hosting products including shared hosting, WordPress hosting, reseller hosting, VPS hosting, and dedicated servers. It has recently expanded its infrastructure to provide services internationally as well as within Israel.
Netpower’s Hebrew-only website is hard to navigate, especially when translated into English.
Features and Ease of Use
Netpower’s shared hosting services are offered in Windows and Linux variants with different specifications depending on your needs. The following features come as standard with all shared hosting plans:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Unlimited traffic
- One-click app installer
- Daily backups
- SSD storage
- Unlimited storage
The Windows packages are managed via the Plesk control panel whereas with the Linux packages you get a choice between the cPanel and DirectAdmin control panels. In all cases, the user-friendly control panel helps you manage all aspects of your website and hosting.
All packages provide a one-click app installer that is rather like an app store for web applications. You can utilize it to install all the apps you require, such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop, Magento, and numerous others.
Pricing and Support
Whether Windows or Linux, Netpower’s hosting packages are offered at three levels: Base, Business, and Professional. These differ mainly in terms of the number of sites/domains you can host.
Netpower’s prices are average compared with the international market, and you can pay using PayPal or a major credit card. You can be billed annually or biennially, but there is no money-back guarantee (as far as I can see) to make you feel better about the minimum yearly commitment. However, for WordPress plans at least, there is a 30-day free trial.
Support may not be one of Netpower’s strong points. To access the step-by-step guides, you have to log in to the members’ area, so I can’t say if they’re any good. To get one-to-one support, you can try the email and live chat channels as I did. Unfortunately, the live chat agent refused to answer my questions (suggesting that all information was available on the vendor’s website) and my exploratory email received no response at all. I hope that current customers get better support than pre-sales prospects like me.
