Shared web hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and dedicated servers are some of the web services that MyP offers. Its target market is those who only understand Catalan and Spanish as those are the languages it provides on its website and customer support. This company is located in Andorra and its servers and located there as well.
Features and Ease of Use
On its shared hosting service, MyP offers Linux and Windows operating systems with four plans. Its provided resources will work for basic websites. These are its features:
- From 50MB to 1.5GB disk storage
- Anywhere from 10 to 250 email accounts
The storage space on the lower three plans won’t work for much. For example, the first plan only offers 50MB. The only case in which this will work is if your website isn’t media-rich and you don’t plan on writing blogs often. Also, email space will cut into that storage.
MyP doesn’t offer a one-click installer and it doesn’t provide a website builder either. That’s not surprising given that it offers CMS installation as a separate service, so it’s more likely to want to add that as an upsell to hosting.
It supports MySQL databases and provides an email manager for the email accounts that it allows.
My biggest concern with this provider is its lack of features. Fantastic hosting is more than just storage space, databases, and FTP accounts. You’ll need security protection, beginner-friendly tools, and even tools for experienced users like cron jobs, especially given that the company doesn’t provide automatic backups. However, this provider doesn’t offer them. Its features are as basic as it gets, so don’t expect the use of premium software or tools like CloudLinux.
Pricing and Support
MyP hosting does not offer a free trial. To use its service, you’ll need to pay. I’m not so certain if its prices are low or not because it doesn’t specify a duration on its website. If it’s one month, it’s high but for a year, it’s reasonable.
You can’t order directly from the website; you’ll have to reach out to the sales team with details about the plan you want and your needs.
It doesn’t provide a free SSL certificate but offers that as an added service to customers with an additional charge, separate to any plan you choose.
Although there’s a knowledge base, it’s limited to tutorials on configuring email accounts. You can get support through phone and email, but there’s no live chat. I sent an email to the support team and got a reply the next day.
