MegaHoster (aka MegaHoster.Network or MegaHoster.Net) has been providing services since 2004. It describes itself as offering “a full range of telecommunication and IT services,” but for our purposes here, it does dedicated servers, VPS, and (most importantly) website hosting.
Although this vendor’s website can be switched from Russian into English, this simply triggers a Google translation.
Features and Ease of Use
MegaHoster sells shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, and data protection services. As standard, its hosting plans make these features available:

- Free SSL certificate
- Up to 40 GB disk space
- Up to 400 GB monthly traffic
You can manage your hosting using the DirectAmin control panel, which is something of a poor relation to the more popular cPanel. However, the plans are still compatible with the significant CMS systems (i.e., WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal) as well as some of the more obscure ones (such as HostCMS, MODX, LiveStreet, and Shop-Script).
Hosting plans come with a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate plus all the usual developer features such as MySQL, PHP 5 (unfortunately, not the faster version 7), and Cron jobs to schedule regularly-executing scripts.
If you wonder about the different hosting types (e.g., Europe Hosting and U.S.A. Hosting) when you visit the MegaHoster website, I can tell you that the features and resources are pretty much the same (except for on the VIP plan) regardless of location. Your location choices are the PowerLoft Manassas data center (in the U.S.A), the DataDock data center (in Strasbourg, France), or the EvoSwitch data center (in Amsterdam, Netherlands).
Pricing and Support
MegaHoster’s prices are quite low; in line with similar Russian hosts, but lower than other international providers. You get free website transfer and a free SSL certificate, but you have to pay extra for a domain name. Only six-month billing cycles are available; therefore you won’t benefit from monthly flexibility or long-term discounts, and there is no money-back guarantee or free trial as far as I can see.
Although they don’t offer live chat (which I usually like to see), you can reach out to them via Skype, telephone, ticket, or email. They have a client zone for additional technical assistance and a well-stocked knowledge base that covers a range of topics.
