MecaHost operates under the Grupo Tecnológico ME & CA company. Its Spanish-language website sells domain name registration, cloud shared hosting, cloud virtual servers, dedicated servers, private dedicated cloud servers, colocation, anti-spam, and backup services. Servers sit in data centers in Spain, Germany, the U.K, and France.
Features and Ease of Use
MecaHost’s cloud shared hosting plans run on both the Windows and Linux operating systems, and they provide these features:
- 99.99% uptime guarantee
- 250 MB to 2,500 MB disk space
- From 2 GB to unlimited bandwidth
Since MecaHost supports Linux and Windows hosting, it makes sense for it to provide the easy-o-use, multilingual Plesk control panel that works equally well with each platform.
Depending on the platform you pick, you can code in ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, Perl, CGI, SSI, and several other programming languages. And you get up to ten MySQL databases, which you can manage using phpMyAdmin.
At the lower end of the expertise spectrum, you can create a professional-looking website with the website builder that includes plenty of templates for websites, blogs, forums, and e-commerce. You can also use the control panel’s installer to set up a CMS-backed website with WordPress, Magento, Joomla, or Drupal.
If you’re already with another host, MecaHost can transfer your existing website. And if none of the advertised shared hosting solutions suits you, you can ask the company to customize a solution just for you.
Pricing and Support
MecaHost’s eight shared hosting plans — four for Linux and four for Windows — require a minimum annual commitment, and there is no money-back guarantee (as far as I can see) to make you feel better about this. There is also no free domain, no free trial, no SSL, and no discounts as far as I know.

Although you should be able to contact the customer support team via telephone or email, my exploratory email went unanswered. Other support resources include a remote support option:
