Features and Ease of Use
KunciHost offers four categories of shared hosting based on server location and bandwidth, namely: SSD cloud hosting in the U.S and Singapore, and Unmetered SSD web hosting in the U.S. and Singapore.
In each of the four, they offer six plans. In my opinion, the many plans are not necessary, given that the difference in resources provided on them, especially on the lower-tier ones, is not extensive enough.
Customers will get the following features:
- Free SSL
- Up to 15 add-on domains
- Anywhere from 100MB disk space to 20GB
- 9% uptime guarantee
- Weekly and monthly automatic backups
KunciHost makes no mention of free domain registration. A domain registration fee is charged at the checkout. It does offer free SSL, though. Let’s Encrypt SSL is available via the cPanel. Rapid, Comodo, GeoTrust, Value, and Symantec SSL certificates can be purchased as a separate service as well.
Beginners will enjoy the Softaculous script installer for easy set up of web applications. However, there’s no mention of a website builder, so you will need to code and design your website.
One noteworthy feature is the server performance. The drives are SSD, and they are equipped with LiteSpeed web server software. It’s superior in performance for scalability and speed in serving content, especially for PHP. It also has built-in anti-DDoS capability.
The servers also use CloudLinux, so customers using the shared resources are assured of enhanced stability and the ability to maximize resources without too much influence from those they share servers with.
All hosting packages are integrated with CloudFlare, as well.
Pricing and Support
The starter plan only offers 100MB storage space and 10GB bandwidth. This storage space will only be sufficient for a text-based blog. Anything media-rich, or a CMS with themes and plugins, especially caching plugins, wouldn’t work. Nevertheless, it is low-cost.
The next two plans aren’t much of an improvement in resources. However, as you go higher up to better plans, the prices become slightly expensive, especially for the features on offer.
However, the use of SSD, LiteSpeed Web server, Cloudflare, CloudLinux, and free SSL might make them worthwhile for you.
KunciHost gives customers the opportunity to try out its services risk-free with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Just keep in mind that to place an order, you’ll need an Indonesian National ID and tax ID.
You can contact KunciHost’s customer support through email, phone, and ticket. I submitted a ticket, but it was closed after 48 hours with no response from them. I only received a message 24 hours later after following up on the closed ticket.
There’s a knowledge base as well with tutorials on hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers.
