KDKTEC was established in 2010 and has headquarters in Nannapurawa, Sri Lanka. Its primary mission is to provide affordable internet services to Sri Lankan customers, to whom it offers web design, web development, domain registration, and hosting services. KDKTEC’s own website is in a confusing mix of languages.
Features and Ease of Use
KDKTEC doesn’t provide cloud, VPS, or dedicated server hosting solutions. It only offers shared hosting packages that come loaded with features including:
- 99.9% network SLA
- Free domain
- Free SSL certificates
- Cloudflare DDoS protection
- Unlimited MySQL databases
- Website builder
- Softaculous auto-installer
- Free SEO tools
- Weekly backups
- From 5 GB up to unlimited web space
- cPanel
Despite being put off by KDKTEC’s website initially, I found myself being quite impressed by the features of its shared hosting plans. By offering the RVsitebuilder website builder, Softaculous auto-installer, cPanel control panel, generous disk space, and free SEO tools, KDKTEC provides everything you need to build an attractive, secure website with little specialist technical knowledge.
Even so, advanced users will appreciate KDKTEC’s wide range of technical features including multiple FTP accounts, leech protection, Perl, cURL, Ruby on Rails, GD 2, ImageMagick, remote MySQL connections, CGI, PHP, DDoS protection, instant backup configuration, ClamAV antivirus, autoresponders, and much more.
The downside of KDKTEC’s website is that it doesn’t provide any information about the company’s infrastructure, data center, or server locations.
Pricing and Support
KDKTEC offers six shared hosting packages at very competitive prices to individuals, businesses, and government agencies. It also allows you to customize your package according to your needs.
All plans come with a free premium domain and a free SSL certificate, but they differ in terms of web storage, number of emails, domains, subdomains, and add-on domains. Several payment methods are accepted (including PayPal and major credit cards), and you get a 30-day money-back guarantee.
You can contact KDKTEC via several customer support channels such as live chat, contact form, email, and phone. I found the live chat to be unavailable for almost a week before I resorted to the contact form, yet I received no response there either. Unfortunately, the knowledge base does not provide much more help, and it doesn’t translate well into English.
