A division of internet services company GCIS, Just Hosting was founded in 2002 with the aim of simplifying and adding value to web hosting, email hosting, and associated services. It provides excellent technical support and connection speeds, and its Linux servers are located in Ontario, Canada.
Just Hosting’s website is in English.
Features and Ease of Use
Just Hosting offers shared hosting, VPS, and colocation services. There are eight shared hosting plans to choose from, starting with the Zero plan (for beginners) and progressing up to the Seven plan (for big corporates). The plans come with the following features:
- Automated nightly backups
- Free SSL
- Up to 39 add-on domains
- Up to 20 TB monthly bandwidth
Not only does Just Hosting offer no uptime guarantee, but also its terms of services clearly state that it provides no service guarantee or warranty of any kind. It seems unlikely to me that any customer will trust a host without an uptime guarantee, so I got this confirmed by the company.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that this provider does offer some premium features.
For starters, the CloudLinux operating system ensures shared hosting isolation, so you don’t need to worry about other users slowing down your website. And the CageFS file system should keep your data safe from prying eyes.
The Cloudflare CDN is especially useful if you have global visitors because it caches content locally, which ensures faster page loading.
There’s no free website builder, but customers can pay for the Weebly drag-and-drop website builder at the checkout. Installing additional applications is easy, thanks to the Softaculous script installer included in the cPanel.
Pricing and Support
Good hosting can be costly and in this case it’s a tad more expensive than you might expect. Although there’s some good value to be had at the lower end of the spectrum, the higher plans soon become overpriced.
You can pay for plans monthly with a 48-hour money-back guarantee. Unusually, an annual plan only affords you a 7-day money-back guarantee, which is less than the 30-day industry norm and not enough time to decide if you made a mistake.
It’s easy to access Just Hosting’s 24/7 customer support by telephone, ticket, or email, but not live chat. I submitted a ticket and received a response about an hour later.
The knowledge base is not very helpful because it only has one tutorial available.
