Mauritian company iProd was founded in 2009 to design websites. Over time, it expanded its range of services to include domain registration, SSL certificates, shared hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers.
iProd’s website can be switched between the French and Arabic languages, and its servers are located in the United States, France, and Latin America.
Features and Ease of Use
The three shared hosting plans — Oualata, Ouadane, and Tichitt — provide these features:
- 30 GB to an unlimited bandwidth
- 30 GB to an unlimited disk space
- Unlimited MySQL databases
- Unlimited email accounts (with the highest plan)
- Automatic backups
Hosting accounts can be managed with the cPanel or Plesk control panel, either of which allows you to set up emails, databases, and files.
These days, an SSL certificate is essential for securing your website, giving confidence to your customers or other visitors, and even improving your search engine standing. Unfortunately, you only get a free SSL certificate with the highest plan.
If shared hosting isn’t sufficient for your needs, you could instead choose a VPS or dedicated server plan that provides more resources for higher-traffic websites.
Pricing and Support
iProd’s shared hosting plans are not as cheap as other host providers’ plans, but they are competitive when you consider the features you get. You can get a free domain, but some things cost extra at the checkout, such as SSL and antispam.
The company advertises monthly and annual prices (in U.S. dollars), but they only allow sign-ups on an annual basis. If you’re not satisfied, the company promises to refund your money; however, the duration of this pledge’s validity remains unspecified.
You should be able to summon assistance from support agents via telephone, ticket, email, live chat, WhatsApp, or Telegram. I say “should” because my exploratory email went unanswered. If (like me) you have to resort to self-support, you will find a knowledge base and a limited list of frequently asked questions.
