Hostuserver is a Californian hosting provider. Its English language website says surprisingly little about the business itself but does say something about its wide range of hosting services.
Features and Ease of Use
Hostuserver provides a full suite of hosting services, including a cPanel shared hosting plan that comes with the following core features:
- 99.9% uptime SLA for shared hosting
- Weekly and monthly backups
- Domain registration available
- Unlimited add-on domains
- 2 GB to 50 GB SSD disk space
- Unlimited bandwidth limits
Apart from disk space (which ranges from 2 GB to 50 GB), all of the resources are unlimited, including bandwidth, domains, MySQL databases, and email accounts. Pretty substantial resource allocations, then.
Hosting plans come with the easy-to-use cPanel control panel and CloudLinux (which is excellent for isolating you from the effects of other hosted customers). Whilst these hosting plans use servers located in Germany, you can choose between U.S., German, Canadian, and Dutch servers if you’re a dedicated server customer.
The shared hosting uptime is 99.9% whereas VPS and dedicated server customers get 99.99% uptime. Talk is cheap, of course, and other online reviews seem to suggest that this vendor has some issues with overselling on its shared hosting plans.
You get all the usual CMS software (WordPress, Joomla!, Magento, and Prestashop) and other PHP/MySQL scripts plus the Softaculous one-click installer.
Pricing and Support
Hosting plans are priced low; much lower than other hosts in the U.S. or abroad. Just keep in mind that SSL certificates and domain registrations both cost extra.
You can purchase plans on one-year terms, which is normal for budget brands, and (interestingly) there is a money-back guarantee on the Cloud VPS plans but not on the other plans.
24/7 customer service is available only by submitting support tickets. I contacted the team via the online ticketing system and received a response within three hours:
They responded with a simple “yes” to my question, and I realized it was my mistake for asking a question that could be answered with a yes or no. When I tried to get more information, it seemed like they weren’t interested in providing further details. Their knowledge base is not impressive at all because they have only written one article.
