Based in Taiwan, HostingInside was founded in 2004 as an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and web hosting provider that soon grew to become a provider of VPS, dedicated server, and colocation solutions. This company also offers domain registration services, and its simple website is available in English, Indonesian, and Chinese.
Features and Ease of Use
HostingInside doesn’t have its own data center, and although the company website advertises several server locations (the U.K., U.S., Germany, and Singapore), a customer support agent advised me that all servers are actually housed in Taiwan’s Taipei Internet Exchange.
This provider also no longer offers web hosting services, but it does do dedicated server and VPS packages, with the VPS locations being Taipei (Taiwan), Los Angeles (U.S.A), and Maidenhead (U.K.). The VPS features include:
- 99% network uptime
- Up to 10,000 GB monthly traffic (depending on VPS location)
- HDD and SSD drives (depending on VPS location)
- Up to 8 GB RAM (depending on server location)
- Offsite backup
The virtual private servers are unmanaged, so you take full control of your server(s). You can install any software you like, such as cPanel, but otherwise, these are not user-friendly hosting solutions for those of you who don’t have a technical background.
HostingInside offers two tiers of dedicated server hosting: Premium (with servers in Taipei, Taiwan) and Low Budget (with servers in Taichung, Taiwan). Some of the dedicated server features you can look forward to are:
- Up to 1 TB storage space
- Up to 16 GB RAM
- Up to 2,500 GB monthly traffic
- IPv4 and IPv6
- Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI)
Pricing and Support
The prices for HostingInside’s dedicated server and VPS hosting plans in generally budget-friendly, and you can pay via PayPal, credit card or bank transfer.
I do have some concerns about the company’s refund policy, and (more importantly) the live chat support. While the website states that a money-back guarantee is on offer, a rather rude support agent confirmed that the company doesn’t offer refunds of any kind and questioned why I wanted to know about a money-back guarantee at all:
To give some benefit of the doubt, maybe the advertised money-back guarantee relates to the web hosting plans that are no longer offered. It’s not so usual to see refunds or free trials in relation to dedicated servers.
