Romanian hosting company HETNiX has a clear focus on providing top quality services at a budget price point from Tier III and Tier IV data centers. Its website is available in English.
Features and Ease of Use
HETNiX offers a range of hosting services, including shared hosting and dedicated server rentals. The shared hosting plans provide these core features:
- 99.98% uptime SLA
- Manual backup services
- Domain registration
- Five to unlimited add-on domains
- Free USERTrust™ SSL certificate
- Up to 15 GB disk space
First, let’s consider the data center, which (unfortunately) HETNiX doesn’t own. I always prefer a host that owns its own data center, but I don’t always find one, so I’m happy that this host commits to using a Tier III center that assures a 99.98% uptime guarantee.
All plans include a free USERTrust™ SSL certificate and anti-spam protection, so your basic security requirements are covered right out of the box. When it comes to the safety of your data, any HETNiX backups are only for its own disaster recovery purposes, so you’re required to take your own backups.
Your hosting can be managed via the popular cPanel control panel, and you can upload website files via FTP. Your website can be underpinned by a MySQL database.
Pricing and Support
The hosting plan prices are low but confusing. Whereas the Basic plan is advertised at a semi-annual rate, the Standard plan (and above) is advertised at a quarterly rate. It’s up to you to figure out the monthly pro-rata prices.
At the checkout, available billing cycles are quarterly, semi-annual, and annual, with no discounts for longer commitments. There are also no refunds, no free trials, and no money-back guarantee, so you have to take a leap of faith when signing up with HETNiX.
You can reach out to the company by sending an email or calling their telephone number during weekdays from 10 am to 6 pm (Romania time). Another option is to contact the specific department you need, such as Sales, Abuse, Support, or Instant 24H Support, by submitting a ticket. However, when I tried to submit a test ticket, I received a message stating that I didn’t have enough support credits.
If you go looking for self-resort resources, you’ll be out of luck. The basic knowledge contains only four entries.
