The basic virtual hosting plans at H2.ru have the big problem of really small storage. Storage starts at a low 500 MB and only goes up to 2GB. However, considering the fact that these are SSD drives and that these plans come with some dedicated resources in the form of one CPU and 128MB RAM, that doesn’t seem too bad. On the other hand, the Pro hosting plans come with between 3GB and 20GB of SSD storage, 256 MB to 1GB RAM, and 1.5 to 2 CPUs. You’ll only be able to run small and basic sites on the basic plans while the Pro plans should support business websites.
Their hosting plans come with a decent feature set that includes cPanel, the Softaculous script installer, unlimited email accounts (POP3/IMAP/SMTP) with Apache SpamAssassin and Roundcube webmail, LVE CloudLinux resource allocation, CRON jobs, and daily Maldet AntiVirus checks. They also support MySQL and PHP and provide phpMyAdmin for database management.
Their VDS plans are much more resource intensive with between 25GB to 200GB of storage, 1GB to 16GB RAM, and one to six CPU cores. These, however, have bandwidth limits, though that shouldn’t be cause for concern as they are quite high at between 1TB to 5TB.
Pricing and Support
Even though the prices on their pricing tables are for monthly costs billed at the annual 20% discount, their rates are still jaw-droppingly cheap. They offer flexible billing options with monthly, quarterly (10% discount), semi-annual (15% discount), yearly, biennial, and triennial billing.
The obvious downside to their web hosting plans is that there are no unlimited storage options and that the limits are relatively low overall. However, the fact that they provide unlimited bandwidth, storage is SSD, RAM and CPU resources, and that there are free SSL certificates included still makes it incredible that they were able to keep prices so low. cPanel is also included for free, and the Pro series hosting even comes with a free domain.
They also provide various VPS servers that allow you to select your preferred location. The pricing of these servers is primarily based on the storage capacity they offer. Thankfully, they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Additionally, they have a free plan specifically designed for webmasters who need a simple portfolio site.
H2.ru provides email, ticket, and phone support although the last is only available during office hours (09:00 – 17:00 VLAT). Your response times for email or ticket support will be much longer if you contact them outside of those hours. They also offer a help center and knowledge base although it isn’t totally complete. The support itself is decent, but nothing special.
