Greek hosting provider Dedicated-server.gr dates back to 2010. As the name suggests, this company offers dedicated server plans, but it also sells shared hosting. All servers sit in French data centers.
Dedicated-server.gr’s bare-bones website is available in Greek and English. It provides minimal information, and all prices are displayed in euros.
Features and Ease of Use
Dedicated-server.gr offers three shared hosting plans, named Basic, Business, and Premium Business. You can expect to benefit from these features:
- cPanel control panel
- Daily backups
- Unlimited email accounts
- DDoS protection
- CloudLinux operating system
- Greek IP address
As you would expect, the Basic plan provides the smallest disk space of 250 MB and is suitable for amateur bloggers and beginners who don’t need all the hosting bells and whistles. You also get one database and a shared IP address.
The Business plan provides more storage space of 1,000 MB, and this could be a good choice for small websites with light traffic. You get four databases and a shared IP address.
The Premium Business plan provides 10 GB disk space, unlimited databases, and a dedicated IP address. This is ideal for advanced users and demanding website owners or bloggers who like to upload lots of images and media files.
In addition to the aforementioned resource allocations, and unlimited monthly traffic with all plans, you also get a few useful features such as the cPanel control panel to manage your hosting.
If the shared hosting plans are not enough for your needs, you can instead opt for one of the dedicated servers that come with scalable resource allocations and greater control. The five dedicated server plans — Pico, Nano, Micro, Milli, and Centi — come with unlimited traffic, 1 Gbps bandwidth, and RAM ranging from 2 GB to 64 GB. Some dedicated servers have SSD storage, and you have the freedom to install any licensed operating system, set up game servers, and even engage in legal torrent seeding.
Pricing and Support
Dedicated-server.gr offers slightly overpriced shared hosting packages, providing limited disk space and bare-bones features. The dedicated servers are also expensive, particularly regarding setup fees. Payment for plans can be made through bank transfer, Bitcoin, or PayPal.
You can only contact the customer service team via the ticket system, so don’t expect to be able to call the company, send an email, or initiate a live chat. I’m sad to say that my test ticket submission received no response. Therefore, you might want to check out another dedicated server provider, such as GTHost, which has a much more responsive customer support.
You’ll be similarly disappointed if you go looking for self-support resources because the knowledge base is bare:
