Belarus-based 1GB.BY has been operating in the market for at least five years. From shared and Bitrix hosting to dedicated servers, this firm offers it all, backed by server configuration and administration services.
1GB.BY’s website is in Russian.
Features and Ease of Use
1GB.BY offers four shared hosting plans, four “shared hosting + SSD” plans, four Bitrix hosting plans, and a range of installed dedicated servers. The shared hosting plans give you:
- 1 to 20 domains
- 2 GB to 20 GB HDD
- Unlimited website traffic
- Unlimited mailboxes (within the limits of disk space)
- Zero to unlimited databases
- Reliable anti-spam protection
- Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates
- Support for PHP 5.6 to 7.2
- Secure, remote backups
1GB.BY’s “shared hosting + SSD plans” hold your databases on SSDs to make your website work faster. If you wonder why only your databases (not all files) are stored on SSD, it’s because the static files rarely change and can therefore be cached in RAM. To prove its point, 1GB.BY found that OpenCart CMS online stores with databases stored on SSDs worked ten times faster than regular virtual hosting.
1GB.BY also supports HTTP/2 and also uses RAID redundant configurations for enhanced security and reliability.
Pricing and Support
1GB.BY’s shared hosting plans are dirt cheap while its “shared hosting + SSD” plans are competitively priced. You can pay in Belarusian rubles on a monthly or yearly basis via various payment methods. Signing up for a year will afford you a discount of between 10% and 15%. Concerned about making an annual commitment? Maybe the seven-day free trial will make you feel better, but this could be too short a time to fully assess the services.
To encourage individual entrepreneurs, we offer three months of free hosting and the option of a free domain (as a subdomain of 1gb.by). You can also choose an individual tariff plan where you only pay for the resources you need.
You can contact 1GB.BY’s 24/7 customer support team via telephone (office hours only), email, Skype, online contact form, or your control panel. Unfortunately, my exploratory email received no response. If you have to resort to self-support, you can refer to the company’s categorized help section:
