Wix Launches On-Site AI Chatbot Feature for Customer Support
SaaS website builder Wix introduced a new AI feature: AI Site-Chat, an on-site chatbot that acts as a virtual customer support agent. The AI Site-Chat is available only for Wix Editor and in English. It’s free, but users can upgrade to a Premium Plan for unlimited usage.
“Our latest AI feature, the native AI Site-Chat, provides SMBs an enterprise-level tool to assist how they interact with their website visitors,” said Yaniv Ben Simon, Head of Product for AI Site-Chat at Wix. “Businesses can seamlessly use this feature to deliver real-time, conversational customer service, sales, and support in one place, and ultimately see reduced friction, increased engagement, and improved conversions.”
Wix’s AI Site-Chat pulls live data from the website’s resources to deliver real-time, accurate information. Businesses can train it on their products, services, and content to enhance its performance. It’s designed to recognize the intent behind user questions, providing precise search results and recommendations.
Its features include guiding customers to products or services and displaying a pop-up chat interface to assist them during a personalized shopping experience. For example, when a visitor on a home decor site asks about colorful table lamps, Wix’s AI Site-Chat can show product photos and direct links to relevant items.
The AI Site-Chat is also helpful beyond e-commerce. For example, blog owners can use this AI tool to support visitors with faster navigation. A user might ask for a recipe, and the chatbot would point to the exact category or post.
It can help businesses capture leads by sending visitors a contact form when a site owner is offline, and it routes queries directly to the inbox. Site owners can also use conversation data to refine products or services.
Customization options include changing the chat interface’s colors, fonts, and layout. Site owners can train AI Site-Chat to match their brand voice and set usage preferences. It can run 24/7 or follow custom hours.
According to Wix’s AI feature page, the company has another AI assistant in development. This chatbot, which is “coming soon,” will help with domain purchases, store management, and email marketing campaigns.
“With many more features on the horizon, we’re setting a new standard for online business interactions and success,” Ben Simon said.
