Hostinger Unveils Horizons: A No-Code AI Web App Builder
Hostinger has officially launched Hostinger Horizons, a no-code AI tool to help users create web apps by describing their goals in a chat interface. After a trial run for select customers in February, Horizons is now available to all users, the company announced in a blog post.
Hostinger has built its success on web hosting and website building services, with AI-powered features in its website builder as a key selling point. However, the company distinguishes between websites and web apps, with the latter offering interactive functionalities instead of just sharing information.
Horizons has been tested on simple app ideas like a calorie tracker, web-based card game, and time-management tools – all with successful results.
“Web apps have turned ideas into million-dollar startups, but building one always required coding or hiring a developer. … Hostinger Horizons will democratize web apps so that anyone can bring their unique and exciting ideas online,” said Giedrius Zakaitis, Hostinger’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, in Horizons’ launch announcement post.
Horizons works through an AI chat interface like the one you’d see on ChatGPT or Google Gemini. However, instead of simply “talking” to this chat, the AI interprets the user’s instructions to create an app interface. The user will then be able to refine and modify the app directly from the same chat.
The tool also supports voice prompts and image uploads and is available in more than 80 languages. However, Hostinger recommends using it in English for best results.
Horizons’ pricing starts at $19.99 per month, with 4 different tiers available. The main difference between plans is the number of monthly messages, with 100 messages for the starter plan and 1,000 available in the most expensive plan.
While plenty of AI-based web app builders exist, Hostinger claims Horizons’ integration with its hosting ecosystem sets it apart, making the process more accessible to users of all skill levels.
The rise and implementation of AI-powered tools signal a shift in how software is and will be built. Earlier this month, the CEO of AI firm Anthropic predicted that AI will be writing 90% of code within 6 months.
