This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Ramiro Saenz, a CEO of
Rambox – a workspace browser perfect for people who care about productivity and work with many applications, both business and personal.
What is Rambox?
Rambox is a workspace simplifier that lets you organize all of your common daily web apps into a well-designed space. You can configure and group your applications to boost your productivity. No matter which OS you are using, your workspace configuration will sync between all of your machines.
Please describe the story behind the company: What sparked the idea, and how has it evolved so far?
I came up with the idea out of necessity. I own a software company and each project has different tools for project management, team communication/collaboration, emails, etc. As I worked on a project, I would find my browser open with dozens of tabs and a fraction of them were for my project tools (Gmail, Slack, Jira). It quickly became confusing and frustrating when trying to navigate through multiple tabs. One day, I had the idea to create a space only for my apps so that I could keep my browser just for browsing. I had the desire to learn new technologies (Electron and Node JS) and in my free time, I started developing my idea. In April of 2016 “Rambox” was born and released in GitHub as a free, open-source project.
In August 2018, after two years of supporting the “Community Edition”, I released a paid version called “Rambox Pro” with more features, apps, and totally redesigned with the professional users needs at the forefront.
Our team has grown which has allowed us to continue to serve our Community and Pro edition customers as well as build a new edition for larger teams. We are happy to announce that “Rambox Enterprise” is ready and geared towards companies that want to streamline their teams tool set.
What services do you offer?
We have three different editions: Community, Pro and Enterprise.

- Enterprise: built for larger teams that share a common set of tools
What separates you from other similar companies?
We built Rambox out of necessity, we use it on a daily basis, and we are passionate about contributing to making someone’s workday simpler. We strive to be the best in the market and provide high-quality support to all users.
Which trends and technologies do you find to be particularly intriguing these days?
The current trends relate to accessibility everywhere. For that reason, I have found a passion in web technologies. Node JS and Vue JS are a perfect union to develop an accessibility solution.
How has COVID impacted your customers and business?
We are privileged and grateful to be able to do our work from home and therefore minimize the risk of exposure to COVID.
On the business front, we have seen our customer base continue to grow worldwide, and we believe it is because those that use Rambox are able to work from home as well.
To assist customers and prospects during this time, we doubled the trial period and offered significant discounts for users that wanted to continue using Rambox but were unable to pay the full amount.
