How was Norry founded and what were some key moments in the company’s journey to getting to where it is now?
I worked for around ten years in several communications and digital agencies (small, medium, and large). My latest experience reinforced my belief in the idea of being an entrepreneur, choosing my own projects and organization. For two years, I worked as a freelancer, for some very fine names (agencies and advertisers) on projects mainly involving UI Design, UX Design, and Webflow development. After those two years, the activity intensified. I had to make a choice: downsize or change my business model. I’m lucky enough to be married to a woman who, in addition to being extraordinary in human terms, is also one of the best designers and ergonomists I know. Naturally, I asked Melina to join me in this adventure, as she was working in a major Parisian digital agency at the time. She followed me and Norry was born in 2022.What is the process for creating a website with Norry and what platforms do you use for web development?
It all starts with a kick-off meeting, during which we discuss the mission and expectations with the customer. We also take this opportunity to present the customer’s space on Notion, as well as the schedule and the various stages to come. We then schedule a scoping workshop. This serves mainly to lay the foundations for the future website. We work in co-creation with the customer on the site’s future tree structure and content architecture. Then comes the wireframing phase. We use the data collected during the scoping workshop to create the wireframes, which are then validated by the customer. This is one of the most important stages, as it enables us to define the structure and pathways of future users. The next step is to establish an artistic direction. We generally work on part of the home page. A few components/blocks that allow us to present to the customer the digital artistic direction we wish to take for the future website. Once the artistic direction has been established and validated by the customer, we move on to the development of the various page templates. Generally, this phase is coupled with the Webflow development phase. The design studio provides the development team with each page mock-up that has been validated. This allows development and integration to proceed at the same time as the mock-ups continue to be developed. Every minute is precious in this type of project. We work exclusively with Webflow. But very little in no-code. We use custom code to avoid any technical or creative limitations we may encounter. We use the Client-First framework in both Figma and Webflow.Apart from web design, what other services do you offer?
We also help our customers create a graphic universe when necessary. Content creation can also be part of our missions, but always with an SEO focus. We offer SEO and SEA services to help the new site gain visibility. What is Norry Academy and what can people hope to learn there?
The Norry Academy is very young. We try to post Figma and Webflow tutorials as regularly as possible, to help other designers and developers learn about these tools. Melina regularly gives Figma training courses, and I give Webflow training courses. Eventually, we’d like to develop the Norry Academy further, as soon as time permits. What would you say sets the company apart from its competitors?
I think the fact that we’re two married co-directors makes us more complementary. We understand each other without talking, which is quite rare in the business world. We’re also passionate about what we do, but we’re also passionate about human relationships. We’re not into one-shots, and we like to maintain long-term relationships with our customers. That’s why we over-deliver on all our projects. Our aim is to keep our customers happy, and nothing goes out the door until they are!To learn more about Norry, you can visit agencenorry.com
