GoDaddy vs Easyspace – Our Surprising Results 2024

Mark Holden Written by:

Both GoDaddy and Easyspace were launched in 1997 and prove that old isn’t always gold.

I extensively tested both services across five different categories, including pricing, features, and performance. I was disappointed to find that Easyspace’s plans are non-refundable and come with even more limitations than GoDaddy. It was also disappointing to see GoDaddy’s high prices and poor security (except on its WordPress plans).

If I were in your place, I’d invest my money in a more well-rounded web host that combines both high-quality hosting and affordable prices, such as Hostinger.

Click here to see GoDaddy’s WordPress plans1, or read on to see how GoDaddy and Easyspace performed in this in-depth comparison.

1. Plans and Pricing

Both Hosts Are Expensive and Don’t Give You Your Money’s Worth

GoDaddy offers shared hosting (for Linux and Windows), WordPress hosting, reseller hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers. Easyspace provides shared hosting (for Linux and Windows), WordPress hosting, VPS, cloud hosting, email hosting, and dedicated servers.

With GoDaddy, you can choose from four Linux-based shared hosting plans or three plans for Windows. Easyspace has three shared hosting plans with your choice of operating systems (Linux or Windows). It also has one package for WordPress hosting and WooCommerce.

Although both hosts are expensive, GoDaddy’s shared hosting plans cost more than Easyspace, even with a discounted rate.

With GoDaddy, you can be billed monthly, annually, biennially, or triennially. In contrast, Easyspace’s billing cycles are monthly, annually, biennially, triennially, quadrennially (4 years), or quinquennially (5 years). With both hosts, the longer your subscription term, the more cost-effective it is.

GoDaddy comes with a free domain and a 30-day money-back guarantee with annual packages. You’ll only get a 48-hour money-back guarantee with monthly subscriptions, and it only provides free website migration with WordPress hosting.

On the other hand, Easyspace offers a free domain with yearly purchases but doesn’t have any refunds or free website migration.

Neither host is particularly great value for money. While GoDaddy is pretty expensive, it is better value for money than Easyspace, whose hosting services are non-refundable. That’s why I recommend a more affordable host, such as Hostinger.1

2. Features

Both Offer Similar Standard Shared Hosting Features

Starting with GoDaddy’s four shared hosting plans for Linux, you’ll get from 1 to unlimited hosted websites, 100 GB to unlimited HDD storage, 10 to unlimited MySQL databases, unlimited bandwidth, and one free Office 365 Email (for the first year).

In addition, all plans come with a one-click app installer (150+ applications), cPanel, site statistics, SSH access, and CloudLinux. GoDaddy also provides a free SSL certificate with its higher-value plans (Ultimate and Maximum) for the first year.

Easyspace’s three shared hosting plans (Entry, Standard, and Premium) come with 1 GB to unlimited SSD storage, unlimited bandwidth, and up to 5 MySQL databases (none with the Entry plan). All packages have a custom control panel.

Easyspace only provides a free SSL certificate and daily backups with its higher-value plans.

Use the following table to compare GoDaddy and Easyspace further:

GoDaddy Easyspace
Hosting Types Shared (Linux and Windows), reseller, WordPress hosting (managed and unmanaged), VPS, dedicated servers Shared (Linux and Windows), reseller, WordPress hosting, VPS, cloud, dedicated servers

3. Performance

GoDaddy has Better Uptime, but Easyspace has Faster Page Loading Speeds

GoDaddy has servers in the U.S.A. and India. Easyspace, on the other hand, has 10 data center locations, but all are in the U.K. It’s no surprise that Easyspace mostly targets U.K. users, while GoDaddy has a more global audience.

GoDaddy only uses SSD storage with specific plans, while Easyspace uses it with most. SSD storage is preferred over HDD as it processes data more quickly and reflects on your website’s overall performance.

Only GoDaddy’s WordPress hosting plans come with a free CDN (Content Delivery Network). However, Easyspace doesn’t include a CDN with any of its plans. A CDN is a feature that boosts your website’s loading speed by placing it on a global network of cloud servers.

GoDaddy promises a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and Easyspace promises 100%. Even though GoDaddy reported some minor downtimes, it still exceeded its promise. Easyspace’s actual uptime was even lower than GoDaddy’s guarantee.

GoDaddy’s page loading speeds are one of the slowest times I’ve come across. The numbers are quite disappointing from almost every location around the world. See for yourself in our detailed GoDaddy review.

[GoDaddy] - [Speed test]

Unlike GoDaddy, Easyspace showed some promising page loading speeds, especially from its targeted locations. However, it wasn’t enough to be considered a good performer. See what went wrong in Easyspace’s detailed review.

Each host had its ups and downs in this round, but neither could be labeled a reliable performer. I would suggest going with a more reliable host, such as Hostinger.

4. Security

Both Hosts Provide a Reasonable Range of Security Features

GoDaddy’s security features include advanced firewalls, 24/7 server monitoring, and DDoS/Brute-Force protection. Also, GoDaddy uses antivirus/antispam to secure email accounts.

All of GoDaddy’s Linux-based shared servers use CloudLinux OS. CloudLinux isolates each account on a shared server to protect it against security issues related to other accounts. It also ensures the fair allocation of all the server resources.

Easyspace also includes an acceptable range of security features with all its plans. These include hardware firewalling, server caching, disaster recovery backups, firewall protection (against malicious attacks including DDoS and Brute-Force), password protection, and virus protection.

Both hosts include free SSL certificates and automatic daily backups with specific plans.

It was too close to call, so this round is a tie.

5. Support

Both Hosts’ Support is Unreliable

Both GoDaddy and Easyspace have knowledgebase sections with numerous articles and tutorials. However, GoDaddy’s knowledgebase is more comprehensive and organized, making it easier to find the information you need.

GoDaddy’s customer support is available 24/7, or so they say, via live chat and phone. However, the live chat is rarely available, and even when it was, and I got connected to an agent, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The agent wasn’t very knowledgeable and failed to help me.

GoDaddy vs Easyspace

Easyspace’s support is available via email, support ticket, and phone. The email and support ticket channels are open 24/7, but the phone channel is only available during working hours (Mon-Fri: 9 am-5:30 pm). I went for the live chat and only received a reply after about 12 hours. However, the response and support I received were quite helpful.

GoDaddy vs Easyspace

Even though Easyspace’s support is more helpful than GoDaddy’s, they take too long to reply. In other words, both hosts lack reliable support.

Why This GoDaddy vs Easyspace Battle Is Disappointing

You can observe that both GoDaddy and Easyspace exhibit numerous limitations and feature a wide price range. They demonstrate subpar performance, sluggish speeds, and less-than-impressive customer support. The situation worsens with Easyspace due to its lack of complimentary offerings and absence of refund options.

No wonder these two services didn’t make it to our expert list of the best web hosting services. In contrast, Hostinger is strongly recommended by our experts, thanks to its superb performance, budget-friendly prices1, and feature-packed plans.
