You can find lots of real estate templates with gorgeous landing pages and photo galleries, but some should be labeled “buyer beware.”
To be sure, every real estate website needs eye-catching photos, but you’ll also need a robust set of features that helps you manage listings, schedule showings, generate seller leads, and let buyers search and compare properties.
I’ve tested dozens of WordPress themes and site builder templates to bring you six options that have both impressive visuals and all the right functionality. Most include IDX/MLS integration, and some have a built-in CRM. Any would make a great starting point for a real estate website.
And if you don’t have the time to tackle building your own website, I’ll also show you how to get a custom design for little more than the cost of a ready-made template.

The Houzez theme from ThemeForest is my absolute favorite for real estate websites because it strikes a great balance between flexible design and robust functionality.
Whether you sell residential properties, deal in commercial space and development, or manage multi-unit rentals and sales, Houzez has a demo for you. There are 20 to choose from (including the default), and all are easy to customize with pull-down menus and drag-and-drop editing.
You can add an advanced search overlay to your homepage to make it easy for buyers to browse listings by price, location, type, size, and more. Visitors can also scroll down to view your property gallery, call up photo slideshows, and compare properties.
Every demo includes links to social media, IDX/MLS integration, listing and booking management, seller and buyer lead capture, maps, as well as SEO and marketing tools.
1TemplateMonster’sRealtor Services puts your listings front and center with a full-screen image slider on the homepage. As visitors hover over each image, a detailed property description overlay pops up. The slider accommodates up to ten images, though the demo only uses three.
To personalize your site, you can choose between several pre-built page layouts. I also love how this theme makes it easy to add video or audio files to your property listings so you can give prospective buyers a virtual tour of the homes they’re considering.
An online chat feature, a blog, and a contact form are all included.
1Real Estate is a full-featured layout pack from Divi, Elegant Themes’s proprietary drag-and-drop builder, with built-in IDX/MLS compatibility.
The landing page layout has a unique design with a full-screen image and dual CTA overlays. Meanwhile, attractive property listings, targeted content, and strategically placed CTAs throughout the page will help you capture seller leads and convert prospective buyers.
You can use the blog layout to share news about the latest housing market trends in your area. And there’s even a page that links prospective buyers to lenders so they can check rates and get help pre-qualifying for home loans.
Larger real estate companies will appreciate Divi’s unique membership approach, which gives you lots of extra perks: for example, unlimited customer support and free access to dozens of layout packs you can use to create other specific websites down the line.
Website Builder Templates
Property managers, smaller real estate firms, and individual realtors who want to keep listings exclusive or protect sellers’ privacy may find it easier to work with a website builder template. This is also a good option for sale-by-owner homes because these templates are much easier to customize.
There are dozens of well-designed, free real estate templates that come with scheduling management, sign-up forms for lead capture, SEO analytics and marketing tools, and other essential features.
Plus, plugins and apps let you add extra features to your website. And while these templates don’t have built-in IDX integration, there are workarounds to add this functionality.

The chic Real Estate Firm template from Wix grabs buyers’ attention with beautiful photos of your properties, and makes it super easy to browse listings and schedule appointments online.
There are separate pages for rentals and sales, each with slideshow galleries that give buyers a quick tour of individual listings. I also like how the homepage contact form is cleverly placed right below a section for testimonials from happy clients.
Wix’s huge App Market makes it easy to add any extra features you want to your site, like social media bars, event calendars, and booking management tools.
The downside is that Wix doesn’t currently support integrated IDX/MLS, but you can add this functionality using Wix Velo, its open development platform. You’ll need some coding knowledge, so make sure to check out the Wix help center article for more info.

If you’re looking for a website template for a “live/work/shop” development or multi-unit property, you can’t go wrong with Hidano from Squarespace. This elegant design provides an ideal balance of functionality and visual appeal.
Users can click on individual text links in the bold homepage header to learn about special amenities, view pricing information for individual units, check availability, and get to know the neighborhood.
This template comes with the option to enable Squarespace Scheduling, so prospective renters, buyers, and sellers can check your availability and book private appointments with you online.
You can also add an Events page to share news about upcoming open houses. And if you want to allow buyers to apply online, you could add another form block to your Contact page.
Like every Squarespace template, Hidano comes with built-in SEO and marketing tools. You can add MLS search capability to your site using a custom HTML code provided by your IDX service – and Squarespace offers a step-by-step guide.
1Creek Hills from SITE123 is a streamlined template suitable for realtors who offer exclusive properties for sale or rent, and prefer to restrict listings to a private database.
I’d also recommend Creek Hills for property management companies, new home builders, or homeowners listing an FSBO, who may not need or want MLS integration – because there’s currently no workaround to add it to this template.
While I like the eye-catching, full-screen image, what really stands out is the bold white header with your contact phone number. A carousel-style property gallery and parallax scrolling are nice touches.
The template comes with three integrated apps for maps, mobility, and directions, and you can add a Schedule Booking page to let potential clients reserve appointments online.
One nice thing is that SITE123 makes it easy to create a multilingual website, which can help increase your reach with international buyers and different language communities.
If the prospect of designing your own website seems daunting, you might want to consider hiring a freelancer on Fiverr. This platform has lots of talented freelance designers who will create a custom real estate website for you at a fraction of the typical rate.
For example, five-star-rated web designer rongdhusor_ty will create a fully responsive, multi-page real estate website that’s tailored to your needs. The final price will depend on the number of pages, plugins, and extra features you choose, but all his websites include IDX/MLS integration.
Web designers like amirdeveloper will design a website for your real estate business in a matter of days. While the basic package includes just two plugins (it’s eight with the premium package), every package includes unlimited revisions.

Get a Real Estate Website that Connects with Sellers and Buyers
A great homepage that draws users in is the foundation of the perfect real estate website. It entices buyers with beautiful photos of homes and motivates sellers to list their properties. However, it encompasses more than just these elements.
Your website needs to load quickly, look great on desktop and mobile, and be easy to navigate so your visitors can find the information they’re looking for and get in touch. It should also include content sections you can use to share your services and position your company and agents as trusted advisors.
The templates on this list all have a great combination of features and visuals that will put your real estate business on a sound footing. You just have to pick the right one for you.
FAQ
What is the best website builder for real estate?
Wix and Squarespace both offer well-designed real estate templates, plenty of features, and easy customization. Wix has around 20 real estate templates, flexible drag-and-drop editing, and tons of apps and plugins that let you add important features to build your business.
On the other hand, Squarespace’s templates are fully responsive, so you don’t have to worry about how your site will look on a mobile device. While its editing tools may require a bit more skill, Squarespace makes it easier to add an IDX widget for MLS search with a step-by-step support guide.

Which website template is best for real estate?
That depends on your individual needs. Houzez from ThemeForest is an all-around great option because It offers more flexibility and features than many other WordPress themes.
On the other hand, Hidano from Squarespace is a unique, stylish option that would be great for a less traditional real estate website or exclusive listings.
Is WordPress good for real estate?
If you’re a real estate professional looking to build a website, you should definitely consider WordPress for its flexibility and functionality.
The self-hosted version of WordPress (WordPress.org) is a good option for tech-savvy users who don’t mind setting up their own hosting and optimizing their site. If you’re more of a beginner, you might be interested in WordPress.com1 instead, which bundles the builder, hosting, and a few hundred themes in one package.
With either version of WordPress, you’ll get comprehensive features like IDX/MLS integration and CRM compatibility. And if you go with a bundle from WordPress.com, you’ll save with these coupons.
How do I create a free real estate website?
Both Wix and SITE123 offer free plans that you can use to build a real estate website. Wix’s free plan includes essentials like viewing management, social media widgets, and hosting. You can also access over 80 apps for free, although you’ll have to pay to add some features, like appointment management with the Wix Booking App.
SITE123’s free plan includes hosting, social media integration, and live chat support. However, its editing process is not quite as easy as Wix’s – it’s “click-and-choose”, not “drag-and-drop” – and its real estate templates include fewer built-in features, though they are all fully responsive.
