Squarespace Partners With Jeff Koons
Squarespace has announced its fourth edition of Squarespace Collection, an initiative that sees Squarespace partner with artists and creative minds to develop new signature website designs.
In this edition, Squarespace partnered with Jeff Koons, an American artist known for turning everyday objects into works of art. The new design template created from this partnership is called Reflect and is available to all Squarespace users in six languages: English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Jeff Koons worked with Squarespace to redesign his own website, chronicling his work and accomplishments and giving a wider audience access to view his work online. Koons said, “I’ve enjoyed my collaboration with Squarespace designing a website that brings all my works to date together. I was able to create with Squarespace a site that communicates visually, emotionally, and intellectually the way I see the world.”
Koons’ site inspired the new website template, Reflect, which is the center of this Squarespace Collection. The template is specifically designed to help artists showcase their work, leveraging available Squarespace capabilities.
David Lee, Chief Creative Officer, said, “As one of the most influential visual artists of our time, Jeff’s work has inspired both our team and a global audience for decades. Built on 20 years of design excellence, Squarespace shares Jeff’s ideology in democratizing access to design and art.”
Jeff Koons had his first solo exhibition in 1980 and has since displayed his paintings and sculptures in galleries, exhibitions, and museums worldwide. During his four-decade career, he has won a number of awards, including the U.S. Department of State’s Medal of the Arts for his outstanding commitment to the Art in Embassies Program in 2013.
Previous editions of the Squarespace Collection include design collaborations with Björk, Magnum Photos, and Rick Rubin. Their partnerships have added eight templates to the Squarespace library, each bringing unique creative choices to the Squarespace community.
