Orsolya Dormon is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aximmetry Technologies, a company known for its innovative virtual studio and 3D graphics software tailored for the broadcast and entertainment industries.
Aximmetry aims to democratize access to high-end virtual studio technology, allowing users from various backgrounds, including small TV stations and content creators, to produce professional-quality content. Over the years, Aximmetry has served top firms, such as BellMedia, Axel Springer Bild, NEP Sweden, SBT, TV Anhanguera, ESPN Disney and many more.
What pain point(s) do you solve for your customers? What was the “aha Moment” that led to the idea? Can you share that story with us?
The Aximmetry virtual production platform stands out in a market where potential clients struggle to find clear information about pricing or access to free documentation and support. This lack of transparency can make it difficult for potential buyers to make informed decisions.
Aximmetry has introduced a radically different approach. Our prices are available online:
We sell software through an online store, accept multiple payment methods, and provide free, readily accessible documentation. Additionally, Aximmetry operates a forum offering complimentary support around the clock.
The company’s “aha Moment” came with the recognition that the falling prices of broadcast hardware—such as cameras, PCs, and lighting—are also opening doors for small and medium-sized studios to enter the virtual production market.
We identified a significant gap: the need for affordable, easily accessible, user-friendly virtual production software tailored to this specific demographic.
What do you think makes your company stand out? What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the talented creators Aximmetry helps to realise their virtual production projects. Our clients span a diverse range, from individual creators and corporate clients to national TV stations. Educational institutions worldwide also benefit from Aximmetry, thanks to our generous packages tailored for academia. There is a vibrant global community of Aximmetry users who share our passion for virtual production.

From your experience, what are the most important things to build a highly successful online business? Please explain each in detail.
1. Starting from a very simple offering, one has to have a strategic approach, and consider how the business is likely to evolve later on. It has to be a flexible framework so new ideas can be easily implemented.
2. Maintain consistent branding across all communication
3. Create a professional, easy-to-navigate website and optimize for mobile devices.
4. Create engaging and valuable content. Stay focused on your subject.
If there were one part of the website development process you would have spent 50% more time on, what would it be and why? What made you realize the importance of this step?
There are actually two:
1. Researching best practices for UI and design. More often than not the website is the first point of contact with the customer. This first impression is extremely valuable in keeping the interaction going.
2. Creating video content specifically for the website. Aximmetry software is a great tool for creating high-quality video content. However we rarely have the time to create content in house because we are busy with developing the software and servicing our clients.
What’s the one key lesson you’ve learned about building a website that you wish you knew when you started? What’s the story behind this realization?
We realized the importance of having a dedicated section on our website for sharing timely, up-to-date information when we needed to announce our participation in various events. This feature helps keep customers informed about the latest news, updates, and events in real-time. Now we have a pop up on our website that serves this purpose:
We went to a major exhibition and announced our participation on social media but not on our website. Some of our visitors reported that it took them ages to locate our booth. Their first port of call was our website for finding the booth number.
What strategy has been particularly effective in growing and converting your website audience this year?
Our website is just one of the many ways we connect with our customers. Behind the scenes, we have a dedicated team of sales professionals, technicians and partners who are committed to helping clients find the perfect Aximmetry solution for their needs.
